According to various rumours, former Coventry City manager Ady Boothroyd may not be the next manager of Northampton Town.

Sky Bet had suspended betting on Boothroyd who was sacked as City manager back in February but tonight, there are rumours that Boothroyd is chasing a job at a bigger club and Steve Tilson, along with former City forward Eoin Jess will be taking charge.

Former City keeper and coach Tim Flowers who is the current caretaker manager is under no illusion of the task facing whoever takes over the Sixfields hot seat.

Speaking to the Northampton Chronicle, Flowers said: “I’m looking after this until whoever comes in takes over and I haven’t lied about any of that. Fundamentally, whoever comes into this club has got to keep this club in the league as their mission A.

“The Blue Square Prem is littered with clubs like us who have gone and have never come back, it’s a graveyard for clubs like us.

“If you go down, it’s a really strong league to get out of these days.”
