Boothroyd Keen On Emergency Loans

Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd has said he wants to make use of the emergency loan market when it opens for business next week.

Boothroyd had a list of players he was interested in bringing into the Sky Blues squad during the January transfer period, but financial constraints at the club meant he did not have the resources to do so.

Coventry are a bit thin in the middle after the transfer window as midfielders Michael Doyle and the young protégé Conor Thomas both left the club. Sammy Clingan has a knee injury and is unavailable and his replacement Nathan Cameron limped off injured midweek against Nottingham Forest.

Club captain Lee Carsley along with central defenders Ben Turner and James McPake are all missing through injury as well which leaves Boothroyd with little choice but to seek reinforcements in the shape of emergency loans.

"Yes, I'd like to go into the emergency loan market," admitted Boothroyd to the CT.

"It's not open until after the weekend but I think that's something we definitely need to look at and it will be something I'll be discussing and we'll decide what we're going to do."
