Boothroyd Got The Performance He Asked For

Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd was both pleased and disappointed with Saturday's performance in their win over Burnley.
In a game where neither team played particularly well, City did well to take the points with a cracking strike from Michael Doyle.
Boothroyd was pleased with the effort his side put in and with the win, but admitted the performance was below par.
He said to the CT: "I think it was important we put a performance in, I said that before the game - I wanted a performance, a clean sheet and to win 1-0. We didn't get a performance, far from it, but we did get the result in the end against a very good team. I think we've played a lot better than that and lost."
Burnley boss Brian Laws claimed his side were the better of the two and that Coventry only had one shot on target. Apart from Doyle's goal, Burnley goalkeeper Lee Grant pulled off two good saves to deny both Gary McSheffrey's free kick and a belter from Lee Carsley.
Responding to Laws' claims, Boothroyd said, "The shot that went on target went in, didn't it? That's how it is, it's about winning games."
