Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd has confirmed that the 17 year old academy player Conor Thomas was sold without his consent and the deal was done over his head.

Boothroyd said to the CT: "The chairman and the board have a talk about what they want to do and make their decision. At the end of it whether you think it's a good decision or a bad decision, it's done, that's it."

"He's gone on loan until the end of the season. There's a loan fee attached and at the end of the season he might come back to us, he might stay at Liverpool or he might go somewhere else."

"If I'm OK with the decision it doesn't really matter, if I'm not OK it doesn't really matter. I'm not going to change it and I'm not going to say that's a wrong decision. You get on with it; you respect the people above you. There's no point crying about it."

"I'm here for the long term and I think we are very, very close to becoming a very good team, but at the moment the god of football is kicking us where it hurts every chance he gets."
