Coventry City manager has confirmed that influential central defender Ben Turner will not be fit enough for their trip to Leeds United on Saturday.

The City boss also said that Sammy Clingan and Nathan Cameron would also have to miss the game because of injury.

The Sky Blues captain Lee Carsley is still out as he recovered from two operations, one to repair a hernia and the other to fix a troublesome Achilles tendon injury.

There is still no sign of a return to fitness of the other long term injured players James McPake, Gary Deegan and Isaac Osbourne.

The City boss admitted to the CT: "It's not helpful, I've got a good first 11 who can compete with and beat anybody but we don't always have those 11 players."

"My job is to affect what I can, get those players ready and pick a team that can get a result on Saturday. I'm keeping the faith because I work with these players every day and I think we can go there, produce a positive performance and hopefully come away with a positive result."

"I'm one of those people that the greater the challenge, the more stubborn I get and the more excited I get about what's going to be at the end of it. If it was easy, it wouldn't be worth doing."
