Boothroyd: Cardiff Is A Platform For the Second Half Of The Season

Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd has said that the Boxing Day trip to Cardiff City will be a gauge for his team and a platform for the second half of the season.

"Nobody can put any more pressure on myself or my players than I already am doing," said Boothroyd to Sky Blue Player at the club's weekly press conference.

"Yes we lost to Norwich last Saturday but the way I am looking at it is that we've lost one in five and conceded two goals in five.

"We know though that Cardiff and QPR especially are going to be a tough gauge for us.

"Cardiff are a big team, a top Championship team and it's a good place for us to go to see just how far we have come as a club.

"It should be an entertaining fixture on Boxing day but all this is just a platform for the second half of the season because we need to stay with the pack and hang on the coat tails of the leaders like I've said all along.

"If you can take points off the leaders all the better and we need to start doing that."
