Blaze Beaten In Belfast

Coventry Blaze went down to a 2-1 defeat in Belfast on Saturday night.

The Elite League leaders had a five point advantage going into the game but fell behind to a Jeff Szwez goal on 16.06.

Greg Chambers levelled the match in the second period when he scored a pwerplay goal assisted by Greg Owens and Jon Weaver on 29.47 but Pat Bateman hit a powerplay goal on 38.57 to give Belfast the victory.

The other Elite League scores were Hull 2-3 Cardiff, Newcastle 4-5 Edinburgh and Sheffield 6-4 Nottingham.

On Sunday night, the Sheffield Steelers are at the Sky Dome. There are some seats left but it looks like being standing room only. Face off is at 6pm.
