Black's Brummie Mission

Birmingham City have appointed Eric Black as their new first team coach. The 40-year-old Scot has been out of football since his disgraceful sacking from the Highfield Road job in early May.

Speaking to the BCFC offical website, Steve Bruce was highly delighted and said "Out of all the potential candidates I saw, Eric was outstanding. "He is an excellent young coach with a fantastic track record for someone of his age. "His playing career ended early and as a result he has been a coach for a long time and gained a lot of experience. "He has bags of enthusiasm and is regarded by many in the game as one of the best young coaches around and I am looking forward to working with him and I am delighted to welcome him to Birmingham City."

Covsupport wish Eric Black all the best in his new job and hope that he is treated far better than he was by the current City Chairman.

Meanwhile, City have completed the signing of Neil Wood on a free transfer from Manchester United. The 21 year passed a medical on Tuesday and signed a two-year contract with his new club on Wednesday.
