Former Coventry City manager Eric Black would have been welcomed back to Coventry, if he was to be appointed as manager.

The Scot, disgracefully sacked by Mike McGinnity, topped a poll on this site as to who the new City manager should be, following the sacking of Iain Dowie by Ray Ranson.

Black, who is assistant manager at Wigan Athletic, polled 30.7% of the vote with former City defender Sam Allardyce second with 22.2%.

Someone else was third with Richard Money fourth and Billy Davies.

Those who had little to no support were Nigel Pearson,Trevor Francis, Mike Newall and current caretaker Frankie Bunn.
