Black Given Sky Blues Job

Black, who has been in charge of first team affairs for the past few months following Gary McAllisters decision to take time out from the role for family reasons, has been given the job on a permanent basis despite interest from other candidates.

McAllister announced his resignation from the post earlier this week.

Part of a statement from chairman Mike McGinnity on the clubs official website reads: "Although we had a number of applications for the post, it was clear from day one that Eric was our first and only choice and we’re delighted that he has accepted our offer."
