Birmingham Referee For City's Game At Port Vale

The currently appointed referee for Coventry City’s League One game at Port Vale on Sunday is Phillip Gibbs from Birmingham.

A Deputy Head Teacher from Kings Heath in Birmingham, Mr Gibbs worked his way through the Midland Combination and Midland Alliance, refereeing a number of the Coventry based non-league sides before taking charge of Conference games for a number of seasons before joining the Football League list for 2008/2009 season.

His last City game was the defeat at Rochdale in September 2014 and other City games he has been in charge of are the 2-0 defeat at Portsmouth in March 2013,  the 2-1 home defeat to Notts County in October 2012 and the 1-0 win over Bristol City at the Ricoh Arena on December 26th 2011.

His assistants are: James Mainwaring and Brian Durie. The Fourth Official is Matt Eva.
