At the first Council meeting of the season, Mike Penn was selected has the new Chairman of Birmingham County FA.

Mike has been involved with the County FA for 39 years; many of these have been spent as Chairman of the Referees Committee.

Mike is pleased to have been named Chairman, but would have preferred his appointment to come about under better circumstances.

“I am pleased to accept the position of Chairman of Birmingham County FA, but would most definitely have preferred it not to be under the tragic circumstances of Roger’s death.

“He has been a fantastic Chairman for 22 years and I am looking forward to carrying on the legacy of his work with the support of my Vice-Chairman Steve Poole, The Board of Directors and Members of Council.

“I have a background in business and I am hopeful that I will be able to lead the organisation forward in a way in which Roger would be proud.”

Chief Executive Mike Pennick said that he is looking forward to working with Mike and Steve over the next few years, but also acknowledged that it is a difficult time for the association.

“Whilst this is a very difficult time for us, we must be positive and work towards a common goal of developing football for all, with the best interests of the company and our stakeholders at the forefront of everything we do.”
