Coventry City's Gael Bigirimana is on standby for Noel Blake's 18 man England's under 19's squad after impressing in first few starts for the Sky Blue this season.
The 17 year old Burundi born midfielder had been thrown in at the deep end by club manager Andy Thorn as he struggled to select a team from his tiny squad, but Bigirimana has proved to be more than worthy and is fast becoming a fans favourite at The Ricoh Arena.
Bigirimana could now start, or be on the bench for the next game scheduled to take place on September 1st when England travel to Holland, if he is called in.
Bigirimana's manager Andy Thorn said, “It’s fantastic news for a player who wasn’t going to figure at all last year. He thoroughly deserves the call and we are all hoping he makes the squad.”
