Former Coventry City forward Leon Best could be out for up to six months after a scan on his knee confirmed cruciate ligament damage.

Best was injured in the 40th minute of Blackburn Rovers' 2-1 win against AEK Athens at Fleetwood after scoring the second goal for Steve Kean's side.

The former Republic Of Ireland international had a scan today which confirmed the news that Best could be waiting until the New Year before he makes his full league debut for Rovers whom he joined from  Newcastle United in a £3m deal.
