Former Coventry City striker Leon Best made his debut for Newcastle United tonight.

Best, who joined The Geordies on Monday for a fee ranging from £500k to £2m depending on who you believe, played for 61 minutes in Newcastle's 5-1 victory against Cardiff City at St James' Park.

Andy Carroll scored twice along with an own goal and two from Peter Lovenkrands who replaced Best.

Former City loanee Patrick van Aanholt also played for Chris Hughton's side.
