Coventry City striker Leon Best has said that he is glad to be back after missing the start of the season with a medial injury sustained during the pre-season friendly at Kilmarnock.

I feel great now. It's horrible when you're out injured but it's the best feeling when you're able to come back," said Best speaking to the club website.

"I was devastated when I found out how long I was going to be out for because the challenge where I got hurt was one of those that I could have chose not to go in to.

"But looking at it again, I'm not the kind of player to shirk a challenge. It's just one of those things. But coming back, it makes you stronger."

"Even to miss training, never mind the games, was really frustrating for me and it's just hard sitting on the side and watching because, as a person, you can't do anything to change the state you're in. You just have to let things take their course.

If it was just a case of goin g through the pain barrier I would have done it no question but it was one of those injuries where rushing back only hurts your progress.

"And it drives you mad because within yourself you have a lot of energy because you've been resting but you can't do anything with it because you can't play.

"I got 90 minutes under my belt for the reserves on Monday and I now I'm feeling fit I can start putting pressure on the other strikers in the team.

"The competition we have here is a good thing because I know myself that I prefer it when there is pressure on me to perform.

"I've been joking around with some of the other strikers saying they'd better watch out because I would be back soon. But we all get on really well with each other and it's healthy banter and healthy competition which makes us all want to perform that bit better."
