Bennett The Match Day Guest For City V Notts County

Last updated : 11 May 2018 By CCFPA

Fresh from the wonderful Legends Day 2018 former players reunion last Saturday and the emotional tribute to his friend and playing colleague Cyrille Regis CCFPA committee member Dave Bennett is back at the Ricoh this upcoming Saturday evening. Once more he will become our ‘special guest’ at the Sky Blues first leg league Two play-off tie woth Notts County in front of what looks likely to be a bumper crowd.

‘Benno’ will be looking to the current Sky Blues squad to establish a decisive advantage on Saturday before the second leg in Nottingham the following Friday night when over 4000 members of the Sky Blue Army are sure to travel.

Not only a long standing CCFPA committee member, Dave has done much to support the work of various Legends’ charitable games over the years as well as other charity events. He was supporting the Legends XI from the touchline last Sunday when they took on a team from Myton Hospice for their funds.

Even though it is a floodlit game there will likely be Family Zone activities available pre-match so look out there first as Dave is taken to meet the club’s youngest fans and their families. Also pre-match ‘Benno’ will be touring the Ricoh Supporters’ Lounges before the main event and, no doubt, immediately after the game Benno and CCFPA’s Billy Bell will reprise a well-worn but very entertaining double act from the stage of Lady G’s in the Ricoh’s G-Casino.

As usual with our ‘special guests’ Benno will also be adding his considered analysis to the live matchday coverage of BBC CWR for fans who will not be at the game (it is being televised).  We will also be expecting a good turnout of our Former Player ‘Ricoh Regulars’ at the game too and we hope a large ‘Ricoh Roar’ will give the Sky Blues the edge in this massive game which could contribute to another date at Wembley later in the month.

Play Up Sky Blues!
