Former Coventry City striker Trevor Benjamin has been told he is not good enough by AFC Bournemouth.

The striker, had been released by Hereford United last season and had been on trial at Dean Court. However,Bournemouth boss James Quinn felt that Benjamin was not the player he wanted.

Speaking to BBC Radio Solent, Quinn said:"He's not what I'm looking for, he's probably past his sell-by date. "As good as he has been in the past, he's probably dropped his standards a little bit."

Craig Reid has joined up with Dean Holdsworth at Newport County. The Coventry born striker, joins on loan from Grays Athletic for a month in order to get some match fitness after missing the pre-season due to not having a club.

Reid, whose City Reserve scoring record in the FA Premier Reserve League is likely to stand for a long time, due to City not having a league playing reserve side, was at Cheltenham Town last season.

Avun Jephcott has joined Worcester City. The much travelled striker was at Leamington last season. Worcester manager Richard Dryden said about Jephcott, to the Worcester News: : "He hasn't come in for the money, he's come in to try and push himself into the side and hopefully he will be an asset."
