Beavon: Wembley Would Be Nice

Last updated : 11 January 2017 By CNS Sport

Stuart Beavon has said that it would be nice if Coventry City did get to Wembley in the EFL Trophy after the Sky Blues progressed to the Quarter-Finals stage with a 3-0 win over Brighton U21's at the Ricoh Arena.

Beavon, who skippered the Sky Blues in the absence of Jordan Willis, told Laura Hunter: “It will lift confidence, the last two games we’ve conceded in the last kick of the game so to go out tonight and get three goals and a win was pleasing.

“Wembley would be nice, it is the carrot at the end of it. Which would be a great day out.

“I enjoyed the captaincy, one of the first times I’ve been asked actually.

“I thought we were very comfortable at the back, we played and put it in behind when needed. It is massive on Saturday, we’ll get back on the training field and get ready for it.”
