Beating Arsenal Would Be The Club's Greatest Ever Result - Pressley

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley feels that if the Sky Blues can beat Arsenal at The Emirates tonight or win in the replay on February 5th, it will be the greatest result in the club's history.

Whether a win against Arsenal would eclipse the 1987 FA Cup Final or promotion to the top flight, is certainly open for debate but the City boss told the Daily Star:  “If we were to win, it would probably be the club’s finest ever result and that’s including ‘87 - because the circumstances were completely different then.

“The gulf in terms of finance of both clubs now is so enormous and in the game in general.

“I’ve thrown stats to the group all season on various aspects and challenges to them, they seem to embrace them and thrive on them.

“If you look back at the last 15 years of this football club the highest placed finish has been eight and they’ve only had three top half finishes in the entire 15 year period.

“When you talk about a club of Coventry’s potential it is not good enough.

“Going to the Emirates and getting something would be a minor miracle but you’ve got to believe.”
