Coventry City fell to a defeat in the Borders as Matty Robson scored the only goal of the game.

Coventry made a nightmare start as from the first chance of the game ROBSON scored via a header which looped over Murphy.

City began to wake up and McShefferey shot wide from long range before Fleck failed to score from a glaring chance after a ball across the box.

Carlisle still posed a threat as Edjenguele blocked a Potts shot soon after Robson had tried his luck from 20 yards.

City forced two corners soon after as Moussa had a deflected shot before Edjenguele had a good header tipped over by Gillespie.

Soon after Noble threw a punch at Jennings but luckily for the Cumbrians this was not spotted and he stayed on the pitch.

The City fans became more and more irritated when Fleck was booked for a harmless foul.

Carlisle now pressured and had a flurry of chances including a good free-kick.

The referee got more stick as he waved away a bad challenge on McShefferey before Moussa was booked for an almost identical challenge.

Coventry were wasteful as Baker showed, when he didn't shoot before he got tackled.

In the second half, the game had two minutes wasted because a collision involving Carlisle players.

Coventry pushed in the second half as McShefferey had a header blocked.

Fleck was replaced Elliot before Berett shot over for Carlisle and McGinty shot wide.

Adams had a shot save but Carlisle nearly sealed it as Murphy was forced to push it round the post.

Leon Clarke skied a ball which came across the box and knocked one wide from the back post later on.

In the final minutes Elliot was given City's fifth booking and the game ended 1-0 to Carlisle.

All in all a bitterly disapointing result matched by the bitter weather in the North West.
