The bidding for three more tv packages to show live Premiership and Football League matches rumbles on. BSkyB have won three of the packages and another three are now available in a second round of bidding.

ITV are the only terrestrial broadcaster who have been named as prospective bidders for the packages. NTL,BT Group have also been named with Setanta believed to be interested in bidding.

The Television rights will start in 2007 and have come about due to the European Commission deciding that "at least two broadcasters must have a "viable and meaningful" share of football TV rights in England to ensure viewers have more choice. "

Selling the rights is expected to see the Premier League earn around £1.1bn.
