Coventry City midfielder Adam Barton was a 70th minute substitute for the Republic Of ireland U21's away to Hungary.
Barton, along with Arron Doran were brought on by Noel King, to replace Euman O'Kane and Rhys Murphy.
Ireland went down to a 2-1 defeat with Marko Kovacs giving Hungary the lead in the 15th minute and Istvan Kovacs adding a second twelve minutes later.
Ireland's goal came from a Robbie Brady penalty in the 39th minute.
