The Maltese international is on loan at Oakwell for the remainder of the season from Coventry City, for whom his contract expires in June.
Said Davey to Sportbox TV:, "I tried to get him on a permanent deal before the transfer window shut, but we couldn't get that deal done.
"But we managed to get him on loan, which was a good signing for us.
"He's a very good player and it would be nice to keep him at the club. We'll have to see what happens in the summer."
