Barnett Has Been A Different Class - Coleman

Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has hailed Leon Barnett as a 'different class'.

The defender had an excellent game at centre half against Newcastle before he was sent off and after serving a one game ban, is back for Saturday's game against Scunthorpe United.

Speaking to the CT, Chris Coleman said: We have got Leon back for the weekend and to have him, James McPake and Richard Wood to choose from is a great problem to have.

"Barney was excellent at Newcastle but he was sent off and that opened the door for James and he came in and did a great job for us and that's what you want, because no matter which two you put in they look solid.

"Ideally for next season, I would like four fighting for two centre-back places in a squad of 23/24.

"Barney has been different class. "His attitude is spot on. He has come here to play football and he did when he first came in and then James got his chance and took it.

"But Leon's a smart boy and he understands the situation and he'll get his chance again. And when Ben Turner is fit - he's a strong centre-back with good experience for his age - he'll be another one and that's the best it has been for us in that position in terms of quality."
