There was only one Championship game today . Sunderland who were watched by new manager Roy Keane beat West Brom 2-0.

Locally, Nuneaton Borough went down to a 2-1 defeat at Hucknall Town. Bedworth United won 3-0 at Sutton Coldfield Town, Adam Kinder scored one of the goals for the Greenbacks. Rugby Town also won. Goals from Danny Hall and Tom Breward gave Valley a 2-1 win at Corby.

Leamington were three nil up in their match at Alvechurch. Adam Knight scored twice with Stuart Herlihy also on target for Jason Cadden's side. However,Church clawed back three goals in the second half to snatch a draw. Leamington are now second in the Midland Alliance table after six matches.

Atherstone Town beat Boldmere St Michaels 2-1 at Sheepy Road whilst former Coventry City player Avun Jephcott scored for Stratford Town in a 2-1 win over Racing Club Warwick.

Jephcott had walked out after only one appearance on Coventry Sphinx who travelled to Feckenham tonight.

Sphinx had the better of the opening exchanges but in the 21st minute,Feckenham's Chris Wilkie sent a header against the post. On the half hour mark, Covsupport sponsored Danny McSheffrey had an overhead kick saved before Adam McLaughlin headed onto the bar.

In the 39th minute,the home side who are based at Redditch United broke from a Sphinx corner. Brian Field looking suspiciously offside, rounded the keeper and crossed for Lee Ross to tap into an empty net.

With keeper Lee Wilson making some excellent saves to keep Sphinx in the game. Paul Charnley's side,who never looked like losing, earned a draw deep in stoppage time when a stunning strike from Paul Woods flew into the net delighting those who travelled from Coventry and had made up most of the crowd. Things got heated on and off the pitch and in the five minute of time added on,Feckenham had Martin West sent off.

Elsewhere in the Midland Combination Premier Division, Coventry Copsewood drew 1-1 at Castle Vale. Bottom of the league, Massey Ferguson lost for their third game in a row 3-1 at Barnt Green Spartak but Southam beat Cadbury Athletic 3-0 at Banbury Road and Alveston won 1-0 at home to Pershore Town.

In the First Division, Stockingford thrashed Kenilworth Town 5-1 at home with Leamington Hibernian drawing 1-1 at home to Knowle
