Al Bangura has said he is delighted to have signed for Coventry City.

The Sierre Leone international is at City for the rest of the season and speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, Bangura said: “I’m very delighted and to get a contract because I haven’t been in the league for a while,” he said with a beaming smile.

“I have got the opportunity through Steven Pressley and Dave Hockaday and now the new manager and staff. They have helped me get fit and ready and I am not too far away now and just want to get into the first team and repay the faith they have shown in me.

“I am feeling good to be fair, never mind this game which had a lot of inexperienced players, but that helps me to keep working hard to get my fitness. I am nearly there now and hopefully I will be ready for whenever I get the call for the first team.

“I’m very excited because the manager has seen me and knows what I can do. I am just waiting to get on the pitch now to show him what I can do. It’s such a good opportunity to do what I am good at and hopefully help the team.”
