Baker Looking To Play His Part

Carl Baker is looking forward to playing if Gary McSheffrey does not make the Coventry City team for the home team for the home game against Millwall tomorrow.

"I really enjoyed going on at Portsmouth and it is always nice to go on when you are playing well and two goals up," said Baker to the CT.

"It is obviously unfortunate that I went on for Sheffs who took a bit of a knock but I was personally glad to get on and it maybe gives me an opportunity.

"I think Gary has been one of our best players over the last couple of games and has enjoyed playing in the hole and he's being producing to be fair.

"Obviously he scored and was brought down for the penalty but if he is out injured it's a chance for me to come in for Saturday and onwards.

"I have kept myself fit while I have not been playing and hopefully I can get a chance to prove what I can do in the hole because that's my perfect position.

"That's where I scored 90 per cent of my goals at Stockport and I probably should have scored on Tuesday when Clive Platt put me through but now playing in the hole I will get more chances and hopefully I'll put them away."
