Bahrain Game Highly Unlikely

There have been media reports this morning that Coventry City might be playing the Bahrain national side in Austria on a date between July 15th and 31st.

These are misleading as Milan Macala, the Bahrain coach is quoted by the website as actually saying "teams like England's Arsenal, Bolton and Coventry City, Spain's Real Madrid; and Greece's Panathanaikos will be training at the same location over the same period. "Twenty big teams will be in this area at that time, and I'm very happy that we will be able to be there as well."

Macala, whose side is preparing for Wolrd Cup qualifiers also says: "The friendly matches we will play will be vital to our preparations. Shalke, Stoke City and Olomouc are all great teams, and Besiktas as well, although if we do not play them, maybe we can face a club from Hungary."

From those dates quoted and the latest pre-season agenda issued by CCFC, City will have been and gone to training in Obertraun in Austria and moved onto Swtizerland before playing Cambridge United and the two games in Scotland.
