Back City To Draw

Last updated : 23 December 2011 By easyodds.com

Coventry are struggling to raise a Christmas cheer this festive period, as fans have now suffered an 11 match winless streak that includes eight losses.

Next up for the Sky Blues are Bristol City, a side in 21st place - eight points ahead of Andy Thorn's men. Despite their lowly position they do have a fantastic record at the Ricoh, winning four and drawing once, with an aggregate score of 13-2.

Despite that worrying statistic, Coventry face Bristol City at a good time as star man Nicky Maynard has announced his intention to leave and after an initial upturn in fortunes The Robins are now without a win in their last 4 matches. The bookies are torn on this Boxing Day battle - both Coventry and Bristol City are priced at 7/4 to win.

Recommended football betting tip: Coventry Draw No Bet @ 11/10 - BET NOW

Coventry seem to lose by a margin of one every week. Despite this, I backed them to win last week at Peterborough - where it happened again.

They face the sinking ship that is Bristol City this Boxing Day and although The Robins have an excellent record at the Ricoh (4 wins 1 draw), I fancy Coventry to get a result of some sort.

After last weeks losing tip though, I recommend playing it safe in the draw no bet market, where a draw will see you recoup your money. Bristol City may not play Nicky Maynard and Coventry have had the impressive Gary Gardner recalled by Aston Villa, so the game will lose some quality in those players, but I think Andy Thorn's men have it in them to gain at least a point in what will probably be a scrappy affair. The draw is priced at 12/5.
