"The fans were great and that's the reason I threw my shirt at them at the end to show my appreciation," said Gunnarsson to the CT.
"They went up in numbers and absolutely battered Blackburn's fans in terms of the noise they made - they were unbelievable and hopefully they were proud of us.
"I am looking forward to taking them back to the Ricoh when we hope to get as many supporters as we can and get the job done."
