Arena To Miss Out On World Cup

The Arena seems unlikely to be included if the FA go ahead with plans to bid for the World Cup in 2018.

Wembley and Arsenal's new home at Ashington Grove are understood to be the London venues whilst St James Park and The Stadium Of Light could be the hosts in the North East.

Anfield or a new ground in Liverpool if it gets the green light as well as Old Trafford and the City of Manchester stadium could take the North West slots with Villa Park likely to be the sole Midlands venue.

Having secured the 2012 Olympics for London, the FA are keen to launch a bid on the back of that success and hope to land the tournament the next time it comes to Europe in 2018.
