Another Potential Banana Skin - Pressley

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley feels that being draw away to Hartlepool United in the FA Cup Second Round is another potential banana skin.

Speaking about the draw which sees City travel to Hartlepool on either Friday December 6, Saturday December 7th, Sunday December 8th or Monday December 9th, the City boss said to the Coventry Telegraph's Alan Poole: “It’s another potential banana skin – there’s no doubt about that. “This stage of the Cup is all about teams being beaten by sides from lower divisions – just look at some of Saturday’s results – and it’s a no-win situation for us; we won’t get a huge amount of credit if we go through and we’ll come in for some criticism if we lose.

“That’s four cup draws and four away games for us this season so that’s obviously disappointing and we’ll be playing a side who are bang in form. But we’ve got a few weeks to assess the challenge and it’s up to us to produce another professional performance as, in the final analysis, we did at Wimbledon.

“It’s about as far away as you could go for a game,” said Pressley, “and it’s all the more demanding at this time of the year when you never know how bad the weather and the roads are going to be.

“But however many of our fans are able to make it we’ll try to put on a show for them and then keep our fingers crossed for something special in the third round.”
