Another Defeat For Nuneaton

Nuneaton Town are three games without a win after going down to a 2-1 defeat at Droylesden in a Conference North game this afternoon.

Burns put Kevin Wilkin's side ahead in the 24th minute but goals from Rowe (78) and Brown (84) gave the home side the win.

Former Coventry City and Coventry Sphinx striker Iyseden Christie scored an 83rd minute penalty to give Tamworth a 1-0 win over Darlington.

A Berwick hat-trick helped Leamington to a 4-1 win over Weymouth. Morley got the other goal for the Brakes.

Matty Gardner and Matty Piggon were on target again as Bedworth United beat Fleet Town 3-1 in a Southern League Central Division match. In the same division, goals from Wesley and Fagan gave Rugby Town a 2-0 win at Burnham Town.

It was FA Cup day elsewhere and Stratford Town booked a home First Qualifying Round game against Coventry Sphinx on September 3rd with a 7-0 win at Nuneaton Griff. A crowd of 105 saw Martin Thompson hit a hat-trick with a brace for Nick Pollard.

Southam United lost 2-0 at home to Tipton Town and Atherstone beat Cadbury 1-0,.

In the Midland Combination Premier Division, Coventry Copsewood won 3-1 at Earlswood Town, Racing Club Warwick lost 3-0 to Castle Vale JKS, whilst in Division One, Alvis lost 2-0 at Fairfield Villa.

Other results saw FC Stratford losing 2-0 at home to Aston, Leamington Hibernian losing 3-1 at home to Greenhill and Young Warriors drawing 1-1 with Henley Forest.
