Coventry City Football Club will play two games in the United States of America. City travel to the US to play Portland Timbers in Portland, Oregon on July 8, before taking on the BYU Cougars on July 12 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Portland Timbers play in the USL First Division – an approximate equivalent to the Championship – while BYU, short for Brigham Young University, are a side from the USL's Premier Development League.

Portland is situated in the north-west of the United States, while Salt Lake City, which sits between the Wasatch and Oquirrhs Mountains, is in a more central location.

Said Sky Blues boss Micky Adams: “This fantastic opportunity has arisen through an old contact of mine and we're delighted to secure two games in the United States. “Pre-season is arguably the most important time of the year for any football club and we're determined to get our preparation as right as we can. “The games in the US will provide us with a good challenge, while also helping us to build up our fitness ahead of the new season.”

Full details of the games will be on this site shortly
