Adams On Sunderland

Coventry City boss Micky Adams feels City have the quality to survive. He told the club website after the Sunderland defeat: "I thought we were terrific. We were committed and we more than matched Sunderland for long periods of the game. We went into this game wanting to win it and I thought we tried to do that.

"We were the better half in the first half and I think that was great credit to the players. We didn't want to roll over and let Sunderland tickle our bellies as I'm sure a few other teams have done this season.

"Finishing is what the game is all about but you need to spend an awful lot of money to buy quality strikers and we haven't got that kind of cash so we'll continue to work with what we've got.

"I don't think our season will come down to Sunderland away. It will come down to Brighton and Nottingham Forest at home. "We'll be working hard to try and get the results we need in those games and I think we have the quality to do that."
