Said the City boss to the CET: "I think anyone who goes back to his old club wants to do well whether that is me as a manager or Wisey as an ex player. "I certainly don't think the fact that he was there earlier in the season will diminish his enthusiasm for the game because we have all seen what Dennis is like.
"He is in a terrific run of form and has been fantastic for this club. I think he did well for Southampton but circumstances worked against him.
"I don't know how well he did as a player for them,. "If you say he has scored goals for us and not for them, then fair enough, but Southampton were flying earlier in the season and he played a part in that.
"I don't know whether he will be welcomed back because I couldn't tell you what they think of him. Dennis is one of those that you either love or hate."
