Adams Muses Over Jeffers Miss Out

Micky Adams was in philosophical mood after his attempts to sign Francis Jeffers saw the Charlton Athletic striker switch to Blackburn Rovers.

The City boss told the CET: "Franny was in the building,we had agreed terms and he had passed his medical and then he got a call from Blackburn Rovers.
"

I am obviously disappointed because he was in the building and everything seemed to be sorted. Franny appeared happy but these things are never done until they sign that contract.

"So I am slightly disappointed because some people said it was a gamble for me. I feel I have a good record with centre forwards.

"Gary McSheffrey wasn't part of the first team when I first came here, Dele Adebola was at Bradford,Stern John wasn't scoring goals but I think I got the best out of them.

"I think the way we play suits centre forwards and I told Francis that and I thought I could get him back to where he was."
