Micky Adams has offered an apology for not applauding the supporters on the final whistle of City's 1-0 win at Barnsley.

"One mistake I made at Oakwell was failing to acknowledge the supporters when I left the pitch and for that I apologise," said Adams to the club website. "I was obviously upset with the chanting of some of our fans, but I put my hands up and admit that I should have thanked everyone for making the trip up to Barnsley.

"I have to admit that I was very disappointed with the reaction of a section of fans when I took Leon McKenzie off for Wayne Andrews. I respect and value the support of every single one of our fans but I believe it's important to understand that as the manager of the football club, I am paid to make decisions and I those I make are for the good of Coventry City Football Club.
