Speaking after City's cup exit at Herefgrd United, Micky Adams apologised to the 657 members of the Sky Blue Army who travelled to Edgar Street.

The City boss said: "Everybody was aware of him [Fleetwood]. "We had Hereford watched and knew all about his quality and speed. We were aware of what he could do.

"He did not play well against Barnet on Saturday but I do not want to take anything away from him tonight, we did not deal with him."

"I am not going to defend the indefensible. We were not good enough and we got what we deserved - nothing. I would just like to apologise to our supporters.

"All credit to Hereford, they have caused us problems. Our pace in the first half was quite good, but we were never really at the races."
