Academy Boss Completes Great North Run

Coventry City Academy Boss Gregor Rioch completed the Great North Run this morning in Newcastle.

The City U18's boss, who was running for Gary Parkinson, the former Middlesbrough player who has 'locked in' syndrome*, completed the 13.1 mile half marathon in a time of 2hr 11 minutes and 11 seconds.

City Academy assistant Justin Farndon finished in a time of 2hrs 23 mins and 32 seconds.

Kenya’s Martin Mathathi broke the course record to win the race in a time of 58.57. Lucy Karbuu of Kenya was the winner of the women’s race in 1:07:06.
