A Very Professional Away Performance - Pressley

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has described his side's 2-0 win at Port Vale as a very professional away performance.

“It was a very professional away performance – we recorded another clean sheet and I thought we gave them very few chances," Pressley said to Alan Poole of the Coventry Telegraph..

"That’s back-to-back away wins now which is obviously very pleasing; we’ve done a lot of hard work on our defensive strategy and clean sheets breed confidence.

“But I felt that if our final pass had been better we could have scored a number more goals. That was the biggest disappointment because in the first half we had a lot of possession, a lot of promising moments but we let ourselves down with our decisions.

“The goal came from a really good cross into the box – a terrific header by Reda – and that’s what we need to do more often.

“So I’m really pleased with the result and, again, the one thing I can’t complain about is the players’ application, but there are still a lot of improvements we need to make.

“Our league form’s not been disastrous – in our last six games we’ve won three, drawn two and lost one – but we need to show more consistency. We need to do that over a far greater period of time and I hope we can for the fans because, yet again, they’ve showed great support to me and the team."
