Ben Turner has said that it was a tough decision to leave Coventry City.

The centre half, who came through City's ranks before making 74 first team appearances, joined Cardiff City for a fee in the region of £750,000, told Cardiff's official club website: "I'm delighted to finally be a Cardiff City player. Obviously I've known for a couple of days that the deal would likely happen and I'm glad that it's now done.

"Everything seems great here off the field and on top of that the squad is looking really good.

"Hopefully the squad that the Gaffer is putting together will be strong enough to get to the Premier League, as soon as possible. I think it can.

"It was a tough decision to leave Coventry City as I'd been at the club since I was ten years old.

"They were great to me all along and in a way it was sad to go, but from a personal point of view it's a big move for me and hopefully now it'll be a case of 'onwards and upwards.'

"I think it was time to move on.

"Obviously when a club accepts a bid for you then you look to who it is, and when I found it was Cardiff City with the management and squad that's here then I was really pleased."
