A Toil Upfront - Mowbray

Last updated : 17 August 2016 By CNS Sport

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has admitted that those playing up front for him as toiling at the moment.

The City boss hopes to have a striker in before Saturday's trip to Bradford City and told the Coventry Telegraph: “We need to get some more bodies in and I’m sure we will

“We’re working hard and I would expect a forward to be in the building ready for the weekend – I would hope there are a few players but definitely one.

“The biggest concern at the moment is that in three league games we haven’t scored and we can’t keep relying on clean sheets to get points. There’s another couple of weeks to go in the window so we’ll keep working."

Speaking about his problems up front, Mowbray said: “It was a tough shift at the top end of the pitch, a toil for them.

“Jodi’s struggling a little bit at the moment – you could see almost from the minute he went on that he’s got a bit of a problem –and Kyel has missed a bit of training because he had a personal issue.

“We had a few possibilities; Jodi ran right across the front of their defence and I’m not sure why he didn’t put it in right peg.

“At the moment he’s making the wrong decisions every now and then but he’s got to keep working, keep learning because the talent he’s got can take him a lot higher.

“Marvin’s not far away and I’ve told him that we need him because he can hold players off and he’s got goals in him – I’ve seen him lashing them in with both feet in training.”
