Ahead of City's opening Championship game with Sunderland at the Arena on Sunday at 1.30pm, we caught up with the editor of Sunderland Mad.

FM How did you fare last season? A success, or a failure, and why?

Failure, we underperformed and were rightly relegated.
FM How do you expect you'll do this season?

Automatic promotion or play-offs.
FM What have you done on the transfer market this summer?

Sold our best player, sold our goalkeeper, signed Kenny Cunningham.
FM Which of your new signings are you expecting most from?

Kevin Phillips if we get him, but it will have to be Kenny Cunningham at the moment.

FM Where do you think you'll need to strengthen in the January transfer window?

Probably defence but I'm no Mystic Meg.
FM Have you any promising youngsters breaking into the team?

Ben Alnwick - future England goalkeeper in my opinion, Grant Leadbitter - future England midfielder in my opinion.

FM Have you got the right man in charge of the team and will he still be there at the end of the season?

Niall Quinn who is also our chairman, I think he will step down before the end of the season because I feel we will get someone more experienced.

FM Which team do you most want to beat and why?

Leeds. Because they think they're top dogs and they're our closest rivals.

FM Who do you think's going up?

Automatic: Birmingham, Sunderland Play Offs: Wolves

FM Who do you think's going down?

Plymouth, Southend, Sheff. Wed, Colchester.
