Coventry City keeper Joe Murphy is hoping that a new manager for the Sky Blues will bring with him an up turn in fortune.

Speaking to Keiran Crowley at a pre-game press conference, Murphy said: "It always changes a team when a new manager comes in. It is a new start for the players to prove themselves and all the spots are up for grabs.

"Whoever it is going to be, it is a good thing to get the manager in. When that happens, hopefully that can be the beginning of turning around our fortunes.

"I don't think we are far away but it is just defensively where we have looked a little bit naive. It might take a little bit of work to get it right but I think we did alright at Tranmere and have another opportunity at Shrewsbury tomorrow night to prove ourselves.

"It is one or two little things which are costing us and regardless of the new manager, we know we can get that right."

A new manager is expected to be announced on Wednesday.
