A Hard Fought Game - Coleman

Coventry City manager Chris Coleman had plenty of positives from his side's 1-1 draw with Leicester City this afternoon.

"That was a proper derby game and it was hard fought but these kinds of games usually are," Coleman said to the club website.

"Personally I thought we could have got three points from the level of the performance but we made one defensive error of judgement and they equalised from it so that will be a learning curve for the boys. "But I was pleased with the way we responded with the equaliser."

On Sammy Clingan's strike which put City ahead, Coleman said: "I keep saying we need to help out Clinton and Besty and now I'm saying we need to help out Clinton, Besty and Sammy.

" But we never gave up after they scored which was pleasing to see, we've got a real good camaraderie and work ethic at the moment so long may that continue."

Leon Best said after the game to the club website: "All the boys put in a great shift today to be honest and it was another good result against another top ten team. "It was a good battle and I was starting to feel it a bit towards the end but Sammy's goal was a great strike and everywhere on the pitch I thought we put in a good solid performance."

"Sammy was in two minds with the free kick and I told him 'you've got to have a pop at this one son' and then we watched it fly in. It was a brilliant free kick," Freddie Eastwood said to the club website.
