Coventry City caretaker manager Mark Venus has said that ihis side got a great result beating Port Vale 2-0.
Venus told the Coventry Telegraph: “They produced it not just for Tony but for the fans and everyone who’s been through a difficult patch at this football club.

“It was a great result. They’ve worked hard for a league win all season so you can imagine how they feel – they should enjoy it and I enjoyed it.
“Everybody worked really hard for each other. They showed a lot of energy, played to the way we’ve been working on for the past two days – they gave us everything and got what they deserved from the game.
“They’re good players and they have to show that on the pitch, not in the dressing room or in training. And they did that today.
“There were lots of things to build on – some fantastic athleticism; they played like a young side and that was important.
“My message at half-time was to keep focused, to and continue the momentum and keep the workload up all through the second half. I wasn’t sure they could manage that but they did and against a decent team, too.
“There are lots of things we can do better – we gave the ball away a little too easily at times and we can make cleverer movements when we attack to try to finish off the play.
“But it’s a start, it’s a win and the boys showed they’re right behind everyone. Definitely for Tony – everyone was disappointed when that happened and professional people have to make a response.”
