The vast majority of supporters don't want Premier League/Championship U23 teams in a competition designed for League One and Two clubs.

Supporters don't want matches in a group format. This can lead to meaningless matches which attract even less crowds.

The supporters of Premier League/Championship teams don't back their U23 teams in the numbers some had the club reps believing.

Supporters are not afraid to boycott matches. Any club which ignores this does so at their own peril.

Coventry City's game against West Ham U23's was amongst the most expensive to get in to. The Sky Blues were charging £10 for adults , where as most clubs charged £5 for adults and £1 concessions with no booking fees.
