Defender William Edjenguele declared Coventry City's 3-2 extra time win over Birmingham City last night as a fantastic start to his career.

Speaking to club journalist Keiran Crowley, Edjenguele or The Edj as most City fans now know him: “It was fantastic. To start my Coventry career in a local derby like that in front of the home fans, it was just fantastic and I’m so happy to play my first game in England.

“With it being in the Cup as well, it means quite a lot to me and the players as it is a good competition. The atmosphere was great and with Birmingham also bringing a lot of fans, it really was a great occasion.

“This is just the beginning for me and hopefully I can continue to play for the club in the first team. There are a lot of games this season and I want to play in all of them.

“We did well to come back from behind and it did a lot for our confidence. When you play in football, it is atmosphere’s like that which make you happy that you play in the game.”
